this is my GRANDMA’S recipe! it has also been veganized to high standards of tastiness.


  • 2 sticks earth balance, softened
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. good quality vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • icing sugar to coat

cream the butter, add flour and combine. it’ll look dry, add pecans and vanilla and combine. this should come together like a real dough now. there is no sugar in the dough, this is not a mistake. roll dough into a log, about 2 inches in diameter. wrap and chill for about an hour. preheat oven to 350, slice cookies into 1/2 inch slices and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. bake until firm in the centres, 20-25 minutes. remove from heat and roll in icing sugar until they’re well coated! cool on a wire rack.
