we recently got Fuchsia Dunlop’s book Every Grain of Rice and I am obsessed and I don’t know if i’ll be cooking anything that isn’t out of this book for a long time.
creamy corn chowder
this is a really creamy thick traditional tasting chowder., similar to a new england clam chowder, but obviously with corn and no clams.

zucchini noodles with tofu + fresh veg in a creamy almond broth
I’ve been wanting to mess around with zucchini noodles for sometime and i’m glad i finally did. they are delicious and you can use them in lieu of pasta or soba or anything noodly. I topped them with mushrooms, radish, broccoli, tofu, basil, scallions and a warm almond broth and it was everything i dreamt it would be.
garden update and snacks
with the help of our very neighbourly neighbours, the garden is ready to go! after getting 6 cubic yards of soil and hauling it around our new raised beds are full and the old beds and topped up and looking fresh.
