eating in NYC: 6 + 7
well sort of 6 + 7. We spent two days in Ithaca in the middle here but I failed to document our food even though it was great. We went out for some meals and my brother + sister-in-law cooked us up all kinds of treats.

another soba soup: eggplant, radish + shitake
ok so maybe this is boring, but here’s another easy soba-veg-broth bowl. why? because i’ve been eating some variation of this at least a few times a week. it’s great for fridge clearing, quick, easy, warm tasty soup times that will fill you up.

tofu vegetable noodle soup in a thai coconut broth
i love this soup. I LOVE IT. it’s hot and rich and noodley and the broth is so fragrant. it’s everything i want from a food.
garlicky sea asparagus with soba and lemon
so i tried to cook sea asparagus! it is very salty so i soaked in it 2 changes of ice water for a while. this is to get some of the saltiness out and to rinse out all the sand. then it’s time to trim the ends and any icky bits, trim off anything yellowy green (older), keep the jadey green parts. it gets a bit woody as it gets old. then i blanched it. that […]
