day 4! our last full day of vacation. we got up early and went to Sweet Pea and shared a bagel with olive cream cheese and a stuffed croissant. and coffee. delicious as always, i love sweet pea.
next we headed out (faaar out) to native foods to try it for the first time. i’ve always heard good things about it and so we thought we’d try it. i’m not sure how this escaped me before but it is set up like a fast food restaurant, almost exclusively located in malls in the suburbs. this was a big weird out for me (i always assumed it was a regular restaurant) but once we got over that it was tasty. we shared a crazy “bacony cheeseburger” with fried pickles and crispy chicken sandwich.
then we went to exiled again, and they were open this time! we spent time and money there and stopped by the picnic table at Angelo’s to visit our handywork.
then we headed downtown and went to powells and then went to the movies to see Obnoxious Child at cinema 21. we got there early and headed down the street to have some back patio beer in the sunshine before the movie. of course the movie had popcorn with nutritional yeast and a few beers on tap. amazing america movies.
after the movie (which was great), we went to Boke Bowl for ramen dinner times! this was a new place for me and it definitely wasn’t all veg or veegs but there were options and they were tasty! i would go back.
we shared two things: ramen with a carmelized fennel dashi and eggplant, and tofu rice bowl with pickles and other tasty treats (their kimchi wasn’t vegan unfortunately). delicious!
they also bottled their own rhubarb cocktail drink thing and it was so good. also note the “order before you sit” thing off to the side. this was alllll ovvver portland this trip. just an observation.
to finish the night we went to an arcade and got drunk and mark beat me at streetfighter but i won at pinball.
