so guess what we did on day 2? ate a ton of food! also it happened to be the 4th of July and as canadians we had no idea it was such a THING.
PDX III day 1
sorry for the no-posts! i’ve been in portland eating my face off! here’s a breakdown of all the delicious things we ate!
we drove down pretty early so we could be there for a maximum amount of meals. we also brought our bikes because it is the most fun thing to do.
steam buns
mmmm steam buns! i can’t say that these are PERFECTED but they are pretty damn good. i’ve been experimenting with different fillings, and it is more exciting every time.
some things i’ve been making
i haven’t been posting the most but we’ve been eating a lot. i’ve been cooking a lot out of Fuschia Dunlop’s new book, major sichuan times in our house. lots of noodles, lots of fermented tofu (go buy some, it’s amaaazing), and i’ve been messing around with steamed buns (recipe coming very soon).
easy breezy summer salads
this is a rough outline of the salad i make most anytime i need to make a salad. you can tweak it depending on what’s on hand (and i often do) but it’s a good solid base.
